Got to see a SATURN V on the pad at Kennedy in '71 or '72. Would love to actually see a rocket launch.

We used to go over to Ft Worth, out west of town about 20-some odd years ago to see a buddy who had a place not far from the SAC base at Carswell.
We'd watch those -52's depart in the early evening and watch 'em come back from their Alaska turnaround about 12-hours later. Ahh, the Cold War.

Keep some mementoes for the kids, Pablo. I've been lately putting together the papers, photos, etc with our copy of an oral history my recently deceased father-in-law did with my father for a Texas university collection on war vets. I have to make several copies of his AAAF stuff to send along to his Commemorative Air Force squadron, other family, and to our son at USMC training in Quantico (flight school at Pensacola soon).

The tangible is treasure in later decades as memory fades.

"Gee, dad, what did you do in the cube [wars]?"

I always wanted to get one of those college degrees online. Not a "real" one, rather one that you get from those schools that let you create your own curriculum and name your own degree.

At any rate, it would merely be for that perfect moment we've all encountered, so I could solemnly state "why yes, as a matter of fact I AM a rocket scientist!"

I guess Pablo can use that line every day.
