A Subaru accessory that has me puzzled

For $217 dollars and probably one hour of labor to install this pull cord that sits right next to the handle Subaru already installed on the Crosstrek’s hatch at the factory.

If you are shorter those straps are handy. Our basic Pilot has both (included) and strap is handy. Our Tiguan has similar setup of hand area and the strap.

I think an omission in build of car.

Hahaha....you could install something almost the same with stuff you get from the local hardware store for five bucks or so.
 
I do get a chuckle seeing the “overlanding” Crosstreks up here in the PNW daily. They’re all decked out and the driver thinks they look cool. We all know the CVT will over heat on the first small rock they try to drive over on a dirt trail.

The owners of those are absolutely impossible human beings.
Then they put BFG KO2/3, and you don't need rocks, they will kill CVT on the interstate.
