I will be changing out the clean phase oil in the A-Rx application this week, it will have ~2700 miles on it, I used 1/2 qt more oil than I normally do for that amount of miles. The oil is still clean on the stick.

Looking forward to the rinse phase.

I've only got about 350 miles on my Auto RX and the oil is starting to get quite dark already.

I did run some B12 through a vacuum hose last week, but I don't know if that contributed much to the darkening. It started getting darker at about 50 miles and just kept going.

They said the rinse phase is where all the action is. I have a feeling this engine is cleaner than I thought, but time will tell.:)

I just started my clean phase. I used Supertech oil for that part. What oil are you all using for the rinse phase?

I will use Havoline 5w30 and a Purolator Plus (I think that's the name), the white filter.

Guess what, it will look clean on the dipstick because it is metal, but what you drain out of the oil pan will look different.

Update: I dropped the clean phase oil and filter, it looked the same as any other OC. Oil had about 2800 miles on it. I checked notes and did change the filter at 1300 miles ~ half way through the clean phase, it was probably good for the whole duration. The filter I removed was light, oil came right out of it, I put a new filter on anyway. Now I am thinking I could have used it again.

I plan on changing filters again at the rinse halfway point, can I use the filter I removed today that visually looks fine? Maybe use it for the last leg of the rinse phase?

I realize all the magic comes during the rinse phase, I'd hate to waste a filter that is probably still good.

The plan in changing filters is to protect the initial one from becoming full and perhaps creating leaks. I think the expense is neglible as you should be using the most inexpensive filter you can buy.

The Auto-Rx Treatment is designed to be cost effective in oil used also.

Thanks guys, I am not one to take the cheap way out, although I did go with cheap oil and filter this go around, LOL. I will toss the old filter its not worth the possible hassle of a leak, I've never reused a filter, and I won't start now.

Thanks!

More than likely you can run the same oil filter throughout the 3000 mile rinse phase, provided that it has been reasonable well maintained in the past.
