Went shopping for a 2015 ES350 with a CARFAX listed 2019 Lexus battery and was able to measure the battery stone cold prior to the test drive. It was offered for sale on Feb 1 and may have been test driven several times. Definitely serviced by Lexus since they offered a 30 day 1K warranty. The sales person tried to tell me it was perfectly normal for a car sitting around for several weeks. Hell no! Don’t listen to this misinformation. Last year, I bought a new AGM that sat around for 12months and it measured 12.7V

I was surprised the car started but maybe the 350 CCA rule of thumb applies since this engine is a 3.5L. Also starting a car below 12V permanently damages the battery and strains the alternator.

Would u let ur spouse or GF leave the house with this measurement? Maybe if u are going through a nasty divorce or a shouting match break-up. Lol
