Hard to beat a hound just for having his ears perk up and putting his nose to the wind ...

Thanks, Johnny.

Now that you mention it, I probably won't link Elizabeth to this tread

I haven't seen any of my BIL's family since the kids were very young. They've grown up in Florida and I've never made any of the trips to see them. I know Meredith and Aubrie much better ..but I'm still a negligent uncle. Byproduct of being an only child, I guess

Good looking family you have! Looks like ya'll have a good time together, too. I had forgotten that there were Amish folks up your way.

Strange to see your picture after knowing you only by your online personality. I like the goatee, it suits you.

Thanks to all for the kind comments.

Well, we're not necessarily at our best here (

) ..but we ams what we ams. I'm so fortunate to really have the love of family and the opportunity to share time with them pretty often. Our oldest children treat us like good friends as well as loved parents. I hope that this will be true for the youngest when she eventually leaves the house. All in due time, I suspect.

This is usually the case. It's much like (I imagine) where actors/actresses don't have personalities that resemble their on screen persona. They're not like they act like ..most of us don't look like we act like.

Remember, I didn't always look this way

The goatee (G-Man says that it's technically a "Van Dyke") is hiding the pelican pouch under the chin

I trim it up to non-ZZ Top spec's once and a while

She should be around 23-24. She was the second grandchild from the Kendig offspring's bondings and born a year or two after my son. I guess you could consider her an adult. I have a hard time viewing anyone under 30 as an adult. I think I was 18 until I was 23-24 ...then I was 24 until I was about 27 ..27 until I was about 35 ...maybe I caught up with myself at 40...and now I think I'm on the other end of it...feeling 65 at (nearly) 53.
