I have a 99 I4 Camry with 158K miles that uses about 2/3 quart of oil in 3000 miles. I notice a slight puff of white smoke in the mornings at start up. Guessing the valve seals are starting to wear.

Would you add oil and extend the OCI or change the oil at 3000 miles?

I use whatever 5W30 oil is on sale and puralator filters. Just finished my Pennzoil stash and working on Peak oil from recent sales.

Thanks

If it were mine, I'd probably switch to a high mileage oil, go 5000 mile OCI's and keep an eye on it and top it up every 1000 miles or so.

Kinda a DIY or 1000 dollar private mechanic job if it really bothers you or gets worse, probably not huring anything now though. Depends on the condition of the car and what you want to put in/get out of it.
