2700 OCI (this was ARX rinse phase)
61,700 mi on engine
Mostly city driving. 20mi Hwy drive right before oil change.
Filter: Powerflow (private label purolator)

Previous UOA showed some abnormalities (high silicon, low FP, high insol). thought I'd check it again when I swapped out the Havo rinse oil for GC. Will sample the GC at 6k.

BLACKSTONE COMMENTS: You changed this oil out after just 2700 miles in the engine, but it could have been run much
longer. Universal averages show typical wear metals for an oil from this type engine after about 4800
miles run on the oil. We found all wear reading well below average levels and in the correct balance to
show normal mechanical parts inside. Air and oil filtration appear normal. This was 5W/30 diesel-use
engine oil with no fuel, moisture or anti-freeze in it. The oil could have stayed in use longer. Try 4000
miles for the next sample. The engine can take it!

Since when was Havoline 5W-30 motor oil certified for "diesel-use"? That aside, the wear metals are exceptionally low - and this from an oil blended to SM reduced phosphorus levels. So much for the hyper-ventilating, fire-snorting, blood-shot, bug-eyed, strident panic attacks around BITOG by a few hypertensives in a headlong rush to apoplexy that SM motor oils promote excessive wear...

Run the Havoline for 7500 miles. Forget the GC.

Excellent UOA.

Take care, Bill
