Noticed a trans oil leak after high-speed (interstate speeds) during hot weather. Checked it a couple of times and really couldn't find anything definite. After visiting a few Jeep forums, all indications were a clogged vent and sure enough, mine was clogged solid. The Jeep forum also recommended modifying the vent by extending it up higher which I did by adding about 12" additional hose and a 1/4" hose barb.....problem solved. I cleaned the vent with Brake-Kleen and compressed air and re-did the connection at the vent pipe too.....I think the hose was leaking at the pipe since pressure was building up and had no where else to go.
The first time I checked it for leaks a while back I thought the neutral safety switch was the problem since I had no reverse lights and it was wet with oil but after replacing it and warmer weather arrived, the leak came back.
