The aftermarket is somewhat shy about valve springs on this engine. I have a '97 that needs springs and I'll probably replace them this fall. I've heard of Crown and the dealership for replacements, but anybody else? RockAuto shows nothing.

usually the replacement pieces are tempered differently/better. The original springs are prone to breakage.

FWIW there have been huge runs of bad springs due to wire quality on other cars, and especially in the aftermarket.

Melling makes some (available through Northern and others). I'm going to order OEM, so I can say I followed the TSB exactly.

Crane, Mopar, Sealed Power, Clifford Performance are just a few that sell valve springs for the 4.0, the shape changed, I believe in 96, from a bit Higher pressure spring thats straight from the top to the bottom. The later model springs are a beehive shape.
