Hey Everybody!

Check engine light came on and the reading was a misfiring cynlinder 4 so Im gonna change out all the spark plugs and gonna do a tune up also.

Im changing:

Fuel Filter ( is purlator a good fuel filter brand? ) or Manns?

PCV valve

oil and oil filter ( might go with havoline himi and purlator )

air filter

Dont know if spark plug wires have to change?

anything else??

Do the wires.

Densos are a lot cheaper now than when I owned my GS-R. Like $25

Might as well do the cap and rotor

When was the timing belt done last?

Well without knowing the car's maintenance history it's hard to say what you need to do. Are you saying you know NOTHING about it?

plugs, cap and rotor cause they are cheap. i dont know if the integra motor you have has a option for platinum plugs. the only benefit in them is they last longer. plug wires check for corrosion around the plug end. put some dielectric grease around the boot end. the pcv can be cleaned up with carb cleaner. check to see if the valve in the pcv moves freely. fuel filter is not a bad idea for the price and they last a while. air filter is a good idea too, 15,000 miles is a good time to replace. i only say hold off on plug wires because oem set will run you over 50 dollars. especially if your on a budget.

mark everything down in a notebook to reference back.

Densos are only $22.79 at Rockauto

DENSO Part # 6714186 Ignition wire One of our most popular parts
Original Equipment Replacement Part / Complete Ignition Wire Set - 7mm; RS Model; LS Model; GS Model
$22.79

The OE wires on my GS-R were Sumitomos. I would rate Denso as good or better than Sumitomo. The Sumitomos were $79 last time I priced them.

I don't know what my LS motor had originally. (it was from a junkyard DA9. Went into a Civic) I think it had Autolite wires. They worked fine

Yea bro, get that done or inspected at least.. its interference engine IIRC

I have a 1990 Integra with just a hair over 250,000 miles on it. I run NGK plugs and wires with factory cap and rotor. I will be doing my 2nd timing belt change this fall, 2nd owner. It will get Honda belt, water pump and tensioner along will new oil seals. I expect to see 400,000 miles out of this car.

what do you mean by at least its interference engine IIRC? I looked it up and all that came up was other engines use a chain?

Nice! I hope mine will last as long too. How much will all of it cost? I heard timing belt alone is $300??

Seems like I paid $60 for the belt. I do the work myself.

If the timing belt breaks on an "interference" engine, the piston will contact the valves and cause severe engine damage. That's why you never want to wait until it breaks to change it.

sounds expensive lol Im praying my teggy will hold up until I get the funds to address that
