Should I bite the bullet and buy a whole tranny, or is it worth trying to just replace the valve body? Research shows that part should solve the problem, I only drove about 50miles with the problem happening so I doubt I ruined the rest of the trans in the process, but even with a rebuilt valve body I still have a 4L60E with questionable maintenance history and over 213K on it... by the time I pay labor to have the valve body installed, fluid/filter kit, and buy the part, I'm like $500 into the tranny. Vs buying a rebuilt one for $1500 and paying like $500 to have it put in... Need help deciding what to do. Thanks!
