Simple question, what coolant do I need to use in my vehicle? Can I use a havoline universal coolant with the coolant I already have in the vehicle? Thanks everyone. Taylor

Well at the most you will get 38203 different answers. What you have in it is a clone of DexCool. I would do a drain and refill of the radiator with Zerex Asian available at NAPA. Its made for your vehicle as is Nissan brand. The "all makes all models" was made for the benefit of the stores and the places that do radiator flushes. Not the car owner. While it might be OK, there are more exact ones for your vehicle. If you want to use an "all makes all models" then Peak Global. I would only do that if I had a mix of vehicles and only wanted to have one antifreeze in my stash. I use G-05 in my Jeep (it came with G-05) and my old Suburban. G-05 is excellent antifreeze but it is "low silicates" and I think Asian vehicles call for no silicates. I would doubt it would ever cause a problem. But Zerex Asian is easy to get at NAPA so why not.

I misread your post a little. You were asking if you could use an "all makes all models"? So I assume you have factory Nissan in there now? So much the better if you have factory Nissan and do a drain and refill with Zerex Asian. But remember you are only exchanging about 1/2 the coolant so either do it twice a few days apart and you are good for several years (say 4 years) or do it once every 2 years. Use distilled rather than tap water always.

I had a 1992 Sentra SER and IIRC it came with regular green anti-freeze. I don't believe that long-life anti-freeze, like dexcool, came about until 1995. At any rate, I used traditional green (Peak or Texaco) in my Sentra and changed it every 2 years and had no problems.

I agree. I think the only problem with these unpressurized reservoirs is using dexcol.
