Hmmmmmm, the 99+ Grand Ams must be different, cause I could change the plugs on my Grand Am fairly quickly. The 1st time I tried? Hahahah! Came back from the Home Depot with an array of U-joint extensions etc. Got that job down to about 30 minutes tops. My 94 Corolla; 5 minute job once the plugs are gapped.

Took even less time than that on my dad's ISB Dodge this past weekend.

1. Open hood.
2. "Yep, looks good".
3. Close hood.

trust me, an i4 ANYTHING is a cakewalk compared to a sidemounted v6. My 93 Camry (i4) is about 5-10 minutes. The front 3 plugs on the 97 v6 Camry are equally simple.

It's the rear bank that makes it different, and few i4 engines have this (!). Funny how that works...

but in all honesty I haven't seen any RWD that I would want in the price range of my Camry, and I drive the car a lot more than i change plugs. It's a minor issue with major benefits.

One more thing on the 93 v6 Camry: I believe you have individual coil packs on each cylinder (6 total coils). This basically IS the plug wire and may prove a bit more difficult to remove than a plug wire (as on 97+) as it isn't flexible.
