Throttle body injector sprays fuel when cranking.

So it is TBI?

Will it crank in neutral? Maybe it will start in neutral, if so it may be the neutral safety switch, if it has one, which i think it does

IS there a throttle position sensor?
is there a crankshaft position sensor?
is there a camshaft position sensor?
.....if so check them via specs in manual

assuming you have good spark and good fuel, and mice have not crawled into the intake to block the air flow, it must be one of those sensors, again assuming mechanical is all good.

Well I traced the issue back to the ECM. Ordered one and will have it in a few days.

maybe that’s why the light check engine lightbulb wasn’t flashing. How would a busted Ecm produce spark, fuel, but still not run? Seems odd to me.

Sparks at the wrong time. Back probing the crank angle wire while cranking confirmed this.

The crank or camshaft position sensor could be the culprit as stated before. But hope you solved it.
