I recently found a case of mobil 1 synthetic oil in my garage and its about 8 years old. Should I consider using it or just dumping it?

+1

If it is an older car, I think that you would be fine...

From what i can tell from the blurry label it meets api sj and was thinking about using it on my 99 civic

I used API SE Mobil 1 10w30 in my mower this year. Shook it up, no problems. I would use 8 year old oil in a 1999 model year car, just shake it up!

Mobil says the shelf life is 5 years. So don't run it past 5000 OCI and look inside the first quart to see if aditives have fallen out of suspension. Shake it really well.

Seriously, that's like a crackhead loosing track of a big ole crack rock. Highly unusual but a good find

I would use it. Doesn't everyone here go on about how good mobil 1 used to be?
