76 Synthetic Blend- over 50% synthetic?

Talked to my local oil/fuel wholesaler today about oils. He says that the new 76 synthetic blend oil is now GF-4/SM and over 50% synthetic. He said that it's a very good oil. He faxed me the spec sheet, but I don't know what I'm looking at.

Just found this formula at a local Bi-Mart for $1.19/qt. That's an even better deal. Ugly bottle though!

I can't find anything on that site that says that it is 50% synthetic and I don't believe that is correct.

It is exceptional oil, as are the rest of the Conoco Phillips family, but the "semi-synthetic" claims are a bit dubious.

No, your post is a bit dubious - based on nothing more than your own Kentucky windage personal opinions and presented here as established fact. (Gosh, isn't it equally odd that no one questions Motorcraft's synthetic blend labeling?) As far as ConocoPhillips' own corporate brands are concerned, those "synthetic blend" claims are not at all suspect. Consider for a moment that unless deep-pockets ConocoPhillips is stupid enough to court monetary disaster from the Federal Trade Commission over false advertising (with ramifications for felony convictions for those responsible, so, highly unlikely - the company does have a retinue of presumably competent lawyers to advise them of the pitfalls of such a venture), you can believe the labels that clearly state "SYNTHETIC BLEND" in bold lettering. ConocoPhillips hasn't announced in their product data sheets that the Group III content is in excess of 50%, but their CSRs will confirm it is at least that percentage verbally if you bother to call their toll-free number (1-800-255-9556). For formula propriatary reasons they will not divulge the exact percentage. (Even if ConocoPhillips synthetic blends are "only" 50%, that still makes 'em about 35%-40% more Group III content than competing Group III synthetic blends.)

I believe you, Phillips 66 emailed me and said that the Phillips 66 blend is alittle over 50% syn....it doese have a great VI and CCS score....flash, not bad.
