Is Amsoil 75w90 transmission fluid the same as 75w90 gear oil? I have gear oil and was wondering if I could use it in my manual transmission

different additive pack most likely wouldn't work well

if you mentioned a car it would be helpful

if its the stang dont those require a gl-4?

id pass on gl-5 as you dont need triple the additives

right I was posting that from a phone.

basically contrary to popular belief too many additives can cause many bad things in a transmission so you want less if possible.

gl-4 has about 1/3 to 40% of the additives that gl-5 does.

this is good because it makes shifting better.

however some transmissions just have to have gl-5

like subaru.(hypoid gear diff/MT combo sump)

Its actually for a buddys AP1 S2000. I had 4 qts lying around and was going to sell him them, but looks like I will sell him the .7qts he needs for his diff. Thanks
