Went to one location where they posted a sign indicating that a city ordinance didn’t allow them to give away free sugary drinks.

Went to another town (kid wanted it) where they had the special small cups set on a table and one could just grab one and go without any kind of accounting. But they’re all special cups just for this event.

It was very tasty, cool, refreshing. My kids (22 and 26) always want to go with me and get one on 7-11.

They don’t have sugar free at that store or it was just because they didn’t want to give them for free?

I didn’t see any. I don’t see an incentive to avoid it. I think the cups are provided by corporate. And then people are incentivized to buy something else. This store was doing the the other Slurpee Day promotions for discounted food items.

I went to one place that was selling small soda cups once they ran out of the free cups and allowing customers to fill them with Slurpees.

I rarely get a slurpee but sometimes when it hits 100 deg F outside and I'm near a 7 11 those cherry slurpee taste pretty darn good to me. Probably a good thing i don't live in Arizona.

It wasn’t quite a Slurpee, but I had an Icee at Furnace Creek Ranch at Death Valley. Also bought a gallon of water at highly inflated prices when I should have gotten it in Vegas or Pahrump. I think ambient temps there were maybe 123°F.

Slurpee allegedly started as Icee made through a special arrangement with a requirement to use a different name. But I guess that was a long time ago.
