"Better" in what way? The FRAM is a wire backed synthetic media filter rated for 15,000 miles so it could do two 7500 mile OCIs. The WIX is also a quality filter that can easily handle 7500 miles, likely much more, but is less efficient than the FRAM. You have to decide what your criteria is for defining better.

Any filter should go 7500 miles. I'm not ready to trust Purolator Classics yet.

All oil filters are guaranteed to meet OEM specs for longevity. Check your owner's manual to find out how long even the cheapest filter will last.

Yes, either of those can be used for 7500 with confidence

I wouldn't use a jobber class filter for 7,500 miles.

There isn't sufficient overdesign in these filters to warrant their use for extended OCI's.

You have to use your brain a little and not just assume any filter will go for the extended OCI's in your owner's manual.

You don't expect an economy brake pad to deliver OEM brake life. Why would you expect an economy oil filter to be any different?

But the OEM filter is designed for the recommended factory change interval.

And I'd use a premium aftermarket filter for anything over 5,000 miles.

NAPA Gold/Wix or FRAM Ultra shoud do the job for you.

Let's not forget about the Fram Tough Guard rated at 10,000 miles with synthetic blend filter media, and 99% efficiency at greater than 20 microns. Silicone anti-drainback valve too. Last one I bought cost $5.20 plus tax at Walmart. Good value filter I think.

I don't consider 7500 miles to be extended oil change interval in fact most vehicles that standard nowadays ...I've used economy filters for longer than that never had a problem... remember Volkswagen beetles have no filter lasted a hundred thousand miles

+1

I'd trust Bosch for that kind of interval versus purolator

Bosch Premium is a Purolator, virtually same as a P1. I've used them often in the past but never cut one open so I don't know if they had a tear or not.

There are several YouTube videos with pure disgust over the Bosch Premium filters. I looked at them and they are only a $1 or so cheaper than a great filter- so I passed

Motorcraft would be a great choice if it's available for your vehicle.

Both of these Motorcraft FL400s filters ran ~7,500 miles in my Fusion's 2.5 liter engine:

... also, as has been mentioned, a Fram Ultra would easily handle 7,500 miles, although it's overkill for the kind of OCI/FCI, as it is rated for 15,000 miles. You could run a Fram Tough Guard and save a couple bucks.
