I have two oil samples without the TBN , truck is a 2001 F350 7.3 diesel
first sample taken at 20,000 miles
Aluminum 3
Chromium4
Iron 151
Copper 12
Lead 11
Tin 0
Moly 6
Potassium 4
Silicon 6
Sodium 9
Calcium 4014
Magnesium 42
Phosphorus 1298
Zinc 1711
cST Viscosity @100 13.8

second sample taken at over 25,000 miles on oil
truck has EAO99 oil filter and a cone EAO air filter

Aluminum 4
Chromium 5
Iron 194
Copper 15
Lead 13
Tin 1
Moly 6
Potassium 4
Silicon 9
Sodium 9
Calcium 1969
Magnesium 21
Phosphorus 644
Zinc 770
cST Viscosity @100 13.4

Something is weird with the Calcium, Phosphorus and Zinc numbers. They shouldn't half themselves in 5000 miles after staying relatively constant for 20,000 miles.

I thought the iron was a bit high on the second sample, but 151 in 20k should become 189 in 25k, so it's not much higher than would be expected.

I have a box of 10 postpaid oil samples from kellytractor that Im almost done with, got them for free with pump.
The owner of the truck is a typical cheapskate, so Im doing what I can to monitor his rig.

Either all three of these were on the apex of a nosedive ( not likely ), or somebody pushed the wrong button on the calculator.

Why no TBN?
