5500 watt Yanmar Diesel Generator

I'd like to use the same oil in this generator that I am using in my Dodge Cummins - Rotella 15W40.

Anyone see anything wrong with that choice or have a better recommendation?

What does Yanmar recommend? Great engines !My John Deere tractor has a 3 cyl yanmar 30 h.p. that recommends depending on ambient temps 10w/30 or 15w/40 oil I run the 15w/40 except one winter I ran 10w/30 because I had some.

They just have the standard oil viscosity vs temp chart and the 15W40 falls within the range for where I'm at here in Houston. My concern was more along the lines of breakdown resistance/longevity in a air-cooled diesel...that can't be the easiest of service. Also, I'm interested in the most protection especially when the engine isn't run for a while...

I don't think you can beat the hdeos unless it is a syn. hdeo, then I would bet it would be hard to prove the difference.
