So, while these things are impossible to get in Canada.... I have had a fascination with them for years.

Anybody on here actually own one?

My brother has the one and only..............M82A1 semi auto................and a bolt action Armolite sniper 50 BMG. Shot both many times and owe him about 3 grand worth of ammo!

While both are cool guns, nothing takes my breath away like a prepped FN Fal with a 50 round magazine. 50 rounds of cheap .308 deer rifle in a full auto is way more impressionable then a measly 5.16x45 constant jamming M16.

Pictures of hated politicians mostly for targets.......or old appliances.

My brother is a firearms dealer and manufacturer. I'd probably have never shot a pellet gun without him.

I work on his truck and change his oil, so we're even.

99GT - dead on with the FAL, but why the negative on M16, I have the M4 version -- never jammed once. I love shooting it!!

I dunno, my experience with them has been negative. They shoot fine when super clean, but they'll start jamming after a couple hundred rounds at the range, where as the FAL will go 10s of thousands of rounds without a jam.

What kind of kick-back does one experience with the M82A1? How much more is it than what you'd get with a pump 12-gauge with slugs?

In all honesty, it's not bad at all. A 7 mag, .338 Winchester, or a .30/06 IMO has more kick. The M82A1 is HUGE and has a rubber butt at the end of the stock to absorb a lot of the recoil. Plus it's a gas operated semi auto, which soaks up a lot of energy. I'd say a 12 gauge might even have more kick.

Great point, and it also makes the darn thing obnoxiously noisy when your standing next to one.

How many beers does it take to make that mistake?

It very much reminds me of a portable cannon in the pictures I've seen...... As I said, I have a bit of an affinity for them.....

just saw where the woman who was hit at the nascar race may have been hit with a 50 cal. bullet, a target shooter turned his rifle and himself in , he was target shooting about 5 miles from the track

They are BIG bullets, I have a .50 cal FMJ from a WWII machine gun sitting here on my desk and it's a VERY big bullet.

I like the FN FAL too, even better than the G-3---I mean H&K 91, which is good for fending off hordes of Cubans.
