Changed this one end of December '23. Got into doing some C&P today. I didn't wrap or cut the pleats. Nothing that really concerns me yet on this. This one had sloppy gluing also where glob was actually sticking to side of can holding the element some. Same large pleat space by crimp. Marks still showing from the FilterMag. Bottom of can almost like a light grease when wiped with finger. That was M1 AFE and probably LG BioTech.

This one and the other one are the Filtech- made in USA ones.

Looks ok, thank You for photos and cut and post.

This was part of why I'm trying to use the Euro L now and keeping it closer to 5k changes. The MM had me at 7600 in June and 6700 with I think 10% left for this one.

My VIN / Build date is not on the crank bearing recall list....yet. I'll try to keep it working good until extended warranty is up. Between the real crappy trans fluid changes, now fuel pump recall with no parts and water leak issues, I just don't have long term confidence in it.

Bottom of the can does look thick like grease. Neat to see the outline of the magnets but I wonder if the filter would do just as good of job. Speaking of the filter that wide spacing next to the crimp seem is quite wide. Plan on more of these filters?

I look at the magnets as extra and the material on them is just like what you find on a magnetic drain plug. Would the filter get it, who knows? If I can keep small little particles from being added to the wear cycle, I'm happy.

More filters - yup probably 3-4 more since that is my stock. They don't fit on my Accord or CRV as the can diameter is too big. I found that out first time I had the Accord on ramps, oil drained, old filter off. Had to ride my bicycle to the shop to get a new one that fit.

Only other vehicle I have that could take them is my son's Forte and I have I think 6 Hyundai filters for that and his fiancé's Tucson still.

The diameter difference is like an XG9688 vs XG7317.
