No doubt a wonder cure... Maybe in March or April, could be May...

I have about the same mileage and time with dino in my old F-150...

PP is good for 10k in warm weather and hwy driving condtions. If it really itch everytime at 5k, use Pennzoil Conventional and any SN dino. PP is a very good Group III synthetic oil good for 10k or a year.

I'm at 700 miles/3 months on Pennzoil conventional (albeit with extensive short tripping and idling) and I already have the itch. I'm probably gonna change it in March, which is kind of ridiculous but at the same time it sees almost no highway and makes multiple sub-two mile trips per day and its also got some pretty uniform sludge build-up, so a few short OCIs aren't a bad idea.

My current itch is 12 months/4K miles in my '97 ZJ Grand Cherokee. Rotella T5 with Bosch D+

Part of my brain is telling me it's still good for at least another 2K but another part is saying to change it at 5K and UOA it.

The valve springs are clean but there's some conventional varnish pooling in there I hope to eradicate over time. Hard to get a good picture of it.

I just change the oil when it drops to on the dipstick...rather than add oil @ 5600-7k it's just easier scratch the itch at that time and change it..

I have yet to use a drop of oil in 5,000+ miles. I actually dumped the extra <.5 quart from my 5.1+ quart jug into the sump a little while ago so now its slightly overfilled and i got a small TBN refresh.

Nice...I've had over 12 cars/trucks/vans...and all used some oil, typically a half-quart per 3k miles...maybe it's the way I drive (all but 1 being sticks, I don't let 'em cruise @ 2k like an AT would) ...I could add a half-quart to Kitacam after 4k miles, but again, it's just seems easy/effective to just let it go to and change it.

5,738 miles, I broke down and put some PU in. Sent a sample to Blackstone to check for fuel dilution and TBN so maybe I will go further next time.

No sludge but you sure got varnish.

I have averaged 5000 km on my high end synthetic oils. seems like a waste of money but it provides cheap entertainment for me. Beats hookers and blo.
hah

I would have reused it in my beater without hesitation.

Not the from me it was from the previous owner.

Yes it has an OLM but it still hasn't went off since I reset it a long time ago.

I did an oil change on my sons 2003 Monte Carlo SS with the 3800 V6(80K miles) at5K miles and decided to use QS Defy 5W30. I also did not change the Fram Ultra oil filter because I was lazy and figured it could handle another 5K mile OCI. They say Ultras are good for 15K miles, so why not let it go for two OCI's of 5K miles. I always use a syn or semi syn in my sons car... My sons V6 seems to like the Defy oil because it runs very smooth/quiet...
