This is the engine my dad and brother built for the '68 Nova.
It uses JE pistons and Eagle featherweight 6.25" rods.
The camshaft is a Howards A .675/.369 - 315*/322* solid roller. Heads are Dart Iron Eagle.
The crank shaft is a large journal steel 327 (3.25" stroke) and the block is a .040 400 (4.165 bore) prepped by Lunati, producing 354ci. The car made 468 on the chassis dyno.

They are in cali and race at Samoa drag strip. I am in Oregon and dont have the dyno sheet or vids. Hope to get them from my brother soon though. The printout I saw had only HP due to the six lines for comparison. They didn't want to jumble the lines too much. THeere are six passes recorded on the sheet and four others that were deleted.

Yes, my Dad builds them as a side business.

I look forward to seeing both!

Very nice. I wonder what it runs in 1/4 mile? I probably would've went with at least a 3.48 stroke or 3.75 and punched that eninge out to +377ci

I have seen cars like this at the track and I would venture a guess of 12-second range? Unsure the trap speed.

He was running high 12s with the old 327 and a big flat tappet solid lifter cam and flat tops. He should be in the 11s now.

The idea was to build a large displacement, short stroke, high revving engine.
