I’ve always used 303. Great stuff. I decided to try Amsoil’s interior detailing spray. They are not anything alike. The Amsoil leaves no protectant behind that I can see. The 303 leaves the plastic interior parts darker and richer looking. What is the Amsoil interior detailer used for? I’m perplexed.

It is used to remove money from your pocket and give it to Amsoil.
That's helpful. If you are ignorant of a product why post anything at all?

They are indeed very different products. Cleaning and not leaving the stuff 303 leaves. I don't really see the point of a film, some people do.

"Powerful cleaning, odor-trapping and non-streaking technology. Free from dyes and films."

Perhaps a slightly misleading product name? Why not call it "Interior Cleaner" instead of "Interior Detailer"? The latter implies some level of protectant and/or conditioning would be present.

An exterior "detailing" without a wax or sealant applied is just a car wash.

Meguiar's has a similarly named product. "Cleans and Protects"

I hate Amsoil as much as the next guy but their interior detailer claims to provide UV protection (for 90 days): https://amsoilcontent.com/ams/lit/g3868_car_care_products.pdf

But yes, it is annoying how interior "detailers" can vary so much. I've settled on Mother's VLR as I don't like the glossy finish of some products.

I don't hate Amsoil (no experience with any of their products)

I'm no chemist or materials engineer so I'm probably off base here but I find it surprising there can be UV protection without any film or finish left behind. I guess OP can rest easy, the protectant is there, you just can't see it 🤷‍♂️

This I understand. I called Amsoil and the person I talked with had never heard of 303. I knew I was barking up the wrong tree 😂
You really expect the first level CS phone rep for a decent size oil company to be familiar with every possible competitor? What exactly was your further question? Was my answer not sufficient? Thanks.

I called them first. I was looking for a 303 replacement. I thought that might be what it was until I used it and I realized it was something else. Just didn’t know what. I then decided to try here and got my answer. It’s a cleaner and not a protectant. I’ll use it on my nav screen and my vinyl seats to clean and then put 303 on my seats (not the nav screen)😂

The name fooled me. I ain’t too bright.

And I guess I’m old school but I was surprised he had never heard of 303.

And yes, your answer was spot on.
