Yep,you definitely told me so! Lesson learned (looking at my cut up hands) :P The red flag was the starter looked really shoddy and sloppily constructed. And it weighed half of what the Nissan starter does.

OEM. Local place thats father and son shop rebuilt the Bonnevilles starter for $55

Denso or Mitsu/Hitachi reman(if they have one). Nissan starters are a pain.

I highly, highly doubt O'Reilly/AutoZone/Pep Boys will sell a starter that's remanned by Mitsu or Hitachi, it looks like Remy or BBB supply the rotating electrical to the chains.

I'm going to replace the battery terminals as well while I'm doing this,as these are the originals. This may be a stupid question, but are there actually "best" or recommended types/brands of these?

So they didn't test it before you left the store?

Put the rebuilt oem starter on (they only ended up chargimg me $50 to rebuild it) along with new Duralast bronze battery terminals from AZ. She cranks so fast that with the slightest tap of the key she's running!

I worked at Auto Zone while I was in A&P school. We load tested every starter and alternator we sold before letting the customer leave.
