Right. A 30 weight is a 30 weight and it's gasoline rated.

He also lives in Northern Virginia, so it's not like the 15w- Winter rating is going to be a problem, either.

It has only been below 0F here a couple times. The morning after I change to Delo 15w30 it was -2F...typical Subaru Blub-Blub-Blub-Blub-Vrrrrrr with no odd noises. Delo 15w30 is not as smooth as Pennzoil Conventional 10w30 or Pennzoil High Mileage 10w30 and took a little MPG hit but hot idle is now noise-free.

This oil has Mekava_4 written all over it...Outstanding deposit and oxidation performance. It would probably be excellent in a Merkava 4 as well

Delo 15w30 would probably do excellent in a Subaru turbo...What do you think, BlueSubie?

What do you mean not as smooth? I need all the smooth I can get. My Buick 3800 is not exactly a Lexus V8 and never will be.

Correct, a 90-degree V-6 is never going to be smooth, but motor oil isn't going to change that.

Merk, you are obsessive about having clean engine internals, so why does this concern you? You also claim to like thick oils, so, again, why does this concern you?

As for your Buick, one quart in 2500 miles isn't a lot to be concerned about. Most HDEOs do have an API SM certification, which is newer than what you require. Don't even bother bringing up the 5w30 and 0w30 in your manual, since H E double hockey sticks will freeze over before you use either.

Of all the people here, I'm surprised you're not the one using an HDEO 10w30 before any other choice.
