Any improvements to any for bushing oiling to prevent the squeak recurring...?

No. Use OEM. The gears on the aftermarket parts are very low quality. In fact, I've seen one fail so completely that the oil pump stopped turning and locked the engine up.

Does anyone else periodically lube their synchronizers? The cap comes off with 2 screws and you can drop some oil in there to lubricate the bushings. I've been doing this every oil change and at 180,000 kms the synchronizer gears still look brand new.

I'm considering drilling into the cap and maybe attach some tubing to make it even easier to lube this part.
