2600 Miles / 13 months do I need oil change?

The car gets upto temp in summers and I drive enthusiastically every now and then (once a week or every other week).
In the winter the car only got about 1000km (620 miles) and it often didn't get upto temp because my trips were about 7-10 minutes only. Don't think it got past water boiling point very often if at all.

Would you recommend changing out the oil right now, or would it be safe to wait out another month or two?

What does BMW recommend?
It does seem like a waste to replace all of that oil after no miles, but consider the cost of this engine.
If you'd like to extend this OCI considerably, it would be cost effective to pull a sample and UOA it, just to see what you've got and to decide whether it's reasonable to continue for another year.

Go for a nice drive on the highway. Then go back home. Change the oil after the summer if you think it's necessary.

BMW recommends 15K or 1 year, but with your driving habits, you should have no issues running 18 months or 2 years as long as you get it out to the highway every once in a while.

I have a buddy with a 535is that sees about 3 k miles a year. He drains the Mobil 1 and dumps it in his daily driver, another 535i that has over 500k miles on it.

Take it for a long drive to get the moisture out of it and it will be fine if it isn't already.
