21 shot or more 9mm autoloader with a safety?

Glock makes magazines with capacities of up to 33 rounds for their 9mm pistols.

The same mag shell that holds 33 rounds in the 9mm version, holds 22 rounds of .40 or .357.

The key is, if the gun were to jamb with an after market clip...what’s the point???

the gun jamb...
There was a time when you really didn’t want to buy an aftermarket magazine. And there are still some crappy ones (Promag, for one). But there are some good ones (thinking of MecGar - they make some good aftermarket magazines, but they also make the factory magazines for quite a few pistols, including my Browning Hi Power).

However, I try to buy factory mags when possible. For high capacity pistol, Glock is the way to go, IMHO. Their 33/22-rounders are proven reliable, just like their pistols.

Depends on what your intended use is. Lately, the extended magazine craze is prevalent. Meh, I've carried Sig 229 40 12 round with my first cop job in New England. I moved to NY and was issued G17 G3 which is 17 round magazine. We then moved to Glock 22 40 which is 15 round magazine. I've always (I don't often use the word always) found the extended sticks to get in the way of moving to cover and found them not as reliable overall.

If you are seriously seeking higher capacity in an excellent platform, you will be hard pressed to beat the Sig MPX. I prefer the 8" barrel but the 4.5" is a performer as well. Magazines are as robust as they get and come in 20 and 30 rounds. Readily available. This is offered in semi and civilian legal without a ATF tax stamp.

Another one I screwed up on!! Before I retired I meant to buy a CMMG Banshee 300 but I was ending a very messy divorce and choosing my kids sports payments over a new toy. I would have gone 10mm though over 9mm. Oh well.

Just me and take it for what you paid. I'd get one of these I mentioned (Sig first) and reconsider that ultra long stick hanging out of your carry weapon. At least try it in cover and fire drills and you'll probably see what I mean.

Side note: I have bought a dozen tiny carry guns over the years. I have XXL hands and never found the right one. Figures, after my LE carrer was over Glock comes out with 43X. That one is my excellent fit and everyday carry. Shield Arms offers metal 15 round magazines. Before anyone goes off one me...they are as reliable as the OEM 10 rounder IF AND IT IS A BIG IF!!!! You must change the magazine catch from the Glock plastic to the Shield Arms metal catch. If not you could end up with issues after a 1k rounds or so. I carry this every day and have had over 2k rounds down the pipe with the Shield Arms mags and have not had an issue to date.

I can highly recommend the HK VP9. It comes with 17 round mags, but 5 round magazine extensions can be had from HKParts.

I also have a Walther PPQ, which is widely acclaimed as having one of the best triggers on a striker fire, but I absolutely prefer the VP9. So does an instructor at a local shooting school, who also carries both a VP9 and a PPQ.

I have a Sig P-226 SCT. (Super Capacity Tactical). It's the predecessor of the Tac-Ops. (Basically the same gun). It ships with 4, 20 round magazines. The gun shipped with plastic grips. I installed the wooden ones. The gun itself is nothing special per say. The same magazines fit into my P-226 Stainless Elite.

If you check around, there are a lot of full size frame 9 MM guns out there that will accept 20 round mags. As John said, just stay away from crap like Pro Mag and the like. Mec-Gar is pretty much good to go with most everything they make.

Curious as to your thoughts behind this.
If you get shot, a bad guy has a lot of rounds to use on others.
You have more reliability if you have a jam (another mag)
A 21 round mag can/will be taken into account is you use it for SD
As a civilian your mentality is to husband the number of shots you let fly. A 20+ round mag does not fit into that philosophy.

The chances of you ever needing more than say half a dozen shots means you are out of your league and someone
with a lot of training will not need or use that many bullets unless someone airlifts him/her into the OK Corral.

Again my personal preference is to carry an extra mag. I normally carry 6+1 in my mags for my P365 that hold 10/12/15 rounds. If I am off the deep end with paranoia I will fill a 15 rd. mag and stick it in my weak hand pocket.

Again this is just me. I am not defending what I do

Ruger sells quality products. I have a 9mm Ruger P95PR that came with (2) 15 round mags.
Every Ruger product I have ever owned has been a first class, durable and quality purchase.

The OP asked for 19+ no? Ruger sure does have excellent steel but they have had many a dud in the semi auto handgun realm.
