21 escape

Hi guys,I drive a 21 escape for a work car with 150,000. Today at a delivery I get in and push the start button and everything came on but didnt crank....i sat there trying for 20 min untill it finally started?? No issues for the rest of day,started every time. Now im not trusting it. What would cause that?

Brake switch? It’s gotta know the brake pedal is depressed to start, maybe it’s not working. Try to observe your brake light operation in reflections etc to determine, as it’s probably intermittent.

Bad push button??? I certainly don't trust push button for starting purposes.

Sounds like a bad starter, or a weak battery.

Fob battery? next time hold the key fob next to the start button to see if it starts faster?

I have the same vehicle for work. Okay vehicle except the GOD AWFUL OEM brake pads.
