2025 Trip to Alaska, advice welcome

Jasper, Alberta before departing for Dawson Creek, BC.

The stain on the road is from another car.

Wow, that road! That scenery! Sam, I admire your courage making the trip in your Merc.

How have the accommodations been?

Scott
Accommodations have been excellent. All spotlessly clean, comfortable beds.

The 300D is an excellent ride. 30 mpg, mechanical diesel, no electronics of any concern. Diesel is available at every stop. So far we’ve reached our destination with 1/2 a tank remaining. On the next legs to Beaver Creek and Delta Junction I’ll be topping off more often.

I wish I had installed stiffer springs in the rear. Otherwise I feel we planned well.

Great trip. Thank Youbfor updates. It’s on my bucket list to do as well

Beaver Creek YT to Delta Junction AK.

Beaver Creek to 30 miles west of the boarder was slog due to frost heaves, broken pavement, pot holes and construction.

People are very understanding and thankful when I let them pass. 36 degrees, sleet and rain.
