Add it to your mobile wallet and use it to pre pay for fuel inside the store. Seems to only work at some stations. It didn’t work at Speedway, but myself and another member here used it successfully at Mobil.

Wow, if that is the only option I am not sure I will ever use it. Not worth my time looking gas station that will do this

I have been a M1 user for a while and have used the rebate many times. Glad I did not bother this time.

Agreed, Mobil1 rebates became useless. Corporate probably decided that it costs them too much money to run these rebates, so they decided to make them unusable by most people. Its a gimmick and not a real rebate!
Instant rebates and discounts are used when companies are serious about moving product.
They fooled a lot of people, its not very easy to verify before hand that rebate is unusable.

Does not say anything about only using for fuel. They lied.
I have done the M1 rebate for years - before this year. Used to be $10, not $5. Last year I actually did 4 jugs, one for me, and sent one to my kids apartment address in her name. $20 less I had to give her directly
So M1 has decided to change for whatever reason.
Most people won’t hassle with it and others will not read the fine print. I think they are hedging their bets on that. But who knows.
I’m not a fan of XOM as much anymore. I buy mostly VL, SOPUS or store brand oil now based on pricing and/or ease of rebates.

2 days after submission, a "welcome to the mobil 1 drivers club" email, followed by "win a lego porsche" 7 days later.

Just got both rebates. Interestingly, I had won two hats but they just gave me extra $5. I submitted the same receipt twice, fyi.
Total of $30 back, pretty happy! Only paid $50 for the oil. Took 6.5 weeks and I was able to add the card to "My card wallet" app. From there you can transfer it to google pay/samsung pay/(probably apple pay too).

they send two emails, but in gmail you can easily miss it since it stacks multiple emails from the same person. But you can tell the link is different.
The second link the activation timed out, but it worked the second time.
