2025 Mobil 1 Rebate

Ok, I gave them more than a couple weeks to fix the error, and not having received a response, sent them another email asking in effect, ***?

In response, they said I'd have to submit a second time, using a different receipt. It's obvious that this rep didn't read the email history, and in this case did not understand my question about being shortchanged with only one rebate reward on a single purchase of two 5-qt jugs.

At this point, I'm not holding out much hope they'll understand their error, never mind fix it, so perhaps I'll just write off the $5 from "winning" the game and call it even. Not going to put any more effort into it.
So you submitted once with two on the receipt? I think you should just resubmit it with the same receipt. I also bought two on one receipt and submitted it twice because it said 5$ per submission. When I called the woman said she found both.

Yes, that is correct. One purchase, two jugs, one receipt. One submission.

But here's the kicker -- when they shortchanged me, I included the same documentation again, for reference, in the email.

To do it again would be the third time they've received the documentation.

If they truly want people to submit multiple times, even for the same purchase, with the same receipt, so they can remit $5 for each submission (and have to do the additional processing for each), I can't argue with that. But I can choose not to play such illogical games.

I've never had any issues with M1 rebates before, and I've been doing them since 2015. Not this year. And at this rate, never again.
 
It did not. Amazon tried it repeatedly for multiple days, and they finally canceled my order. I'll see what I can do with the physical card. Thanks for the suggestion though.
what a waste of time, I am going to return the oil, it is not even worth the hassle...
 
It is a gas + EV charger Mastercard debit gift card(mine was at least). I inputted the information from the digital card into Apple wallet manually and successfully used it at a gas station (pre charge at the cashier) via Apple Pay.
 
Its been 4 weeks since I submitted rebate and did not hear anything. Is there email address to have them check ?

I’ll have to try that again. That method didn’t work for me. Did you run as credit or debit? PIN or not?

The attendant didn’t ask if it was credit or debit, I just saw the tap to pay dots appear and sent it. No pin was necessary. However I recommend at least knowing the pin in case it asks. YMMV
 
Finally, I think I can put this to bed.

After the second inquiry, they made good on the missing Lincoln, and better yet, issued it in the form of a regular prepaid MC debit card. That went straight to my Amazon account balance, as in the past.

The original Hamilton, being in the form of a fuel debit card (not plainly specified in either the PR, or the offer terms), did not, as the bank will decline charges at unapproved retailers outside that scope.

What is provided is a debit card restricted to refueling purposes, and despite being said to be good for online purchases, has limited use. I don't buy my fuel online, but I suppose others may. I doubt punching numbers into a pump is gonna work either, so a request for a physical card was made, which is to be used as a credit card during the purchase (read the FAQ).

Promotional schemes such as this, and other price discrimination tactics rely on irrational consumer behaviors. And they do work.

But there are still good and bad implementations, and it is disappointing to see Mobil has let their program decline to this degree, especially when it was generally well-run before.
 
I got mine as a virtual card, as others said pretty worthless. I added it to my Apple wallet and will try and buy lunch with it.

Just to be clear, the black card on the left is what they're sending for this promo. To be used at fuel, not general, retailers.

The silver card on the right is what they sent in the past. It has far fewer restrictions.

No charge to request a physical card via snail mail, but expedited delivery can be had for the low, low fee of $20.
