The process is like adding a new payment card to your account, and it needs to be manually removed after it has been redeemed and emptied of its balance.
This does not work for these gift cards.
so it looks like it is supposed to be a prepaid virtual debit card, I have used these without issues before.
if I remember correctly, in 2020 there was an issue with these where even though you got the virtual cards, the funds weren't properly loaded, some people (including me) had to call the rebate team and get it sorted out, I am not sure if this is what happened again.
I called the number on the card a few days ago, and he emailed me a document stating that the card can be used at gas stations and with EV charging apps. Didn't mention any other vendor types.

In theory, nothing should have changed. As in the past, the card is still issued by Pathward bank, as a prepaid Mastercard virtual debit card. Amazon's help pages clearly state that they are an accepted form of payment.
I haven't tried it yet this round, since they shortchanged me, and though quick to respond to my inquiry, have yet to provide a resolution.
Yes I also haven't heard back after I told them they shortchanged me too.
So they cut their rebate in half and then they won't give it to you LOL.

you just buy an amazon gift card with the virtual card for the exact amount. I've done it with most rebates like this especially if its a small amount, i.e. $1.50 ac delco filter rebate, etc.
I called last week and woman had found my rebate said it was approved but would take a few more weeks. I submitted around May 9. I also got two hats on the dice roll and asked if they would actually send me two, she said yes.
Let us know how it works for you when you get it. Like others have posted here, I could not use the gift card for an Amazon gift card reload. Payment was declined by the bank administering the card. I requested a physical card so I can use it in store at a gas station at least.
What I've seen is some of these virtual prepaid cards require u to set a pin, even though the debit card has the ability to charge as credit. However it will decline until you set the pin, even if later you don't use the pin. I think it's a loophole to frustrate people into not using it and easy to over look.

Ok, I gave them more than a couple weeks to fix the error, and not having received a response, sent them another email asking in effect, ***?
In response, they said I'd have to submit a second time, using a different receipt. It's obvious that this rep didn't read the email history, and in this case did not understand my question about being shortchanged with only one rebate reward on a single purchase of two 5-qt jugs.
At this point, I'm not holding out much hope they'll understand their error, never mind fix it, so perhaps I'll just write off the $5 from "winning" the game and call it even. Not going to put any more effort into it.
