2025 Forester Front Differential Fluid

75w90 all the way!
Good deal. I changed our 2022 Outbacks front and rear diff this weekend with 30k miles on it. Went with the 75w90. Changed it, drove it a few miles and changed it again. Probably unnecessary ($$) but I went from OEM fluids to Amsoil SVG so hopefully it's not a "mix".

You’ll be fine. A little overkill lol. I changed my fluids at 22k on my 2021 Outback in 2022 with SVG. This year I changed them with about 3 years 20-25k. Both fluids look great. Rear was a little gray but the front looked like new. I’ll be running it much longer 3rd time around.

its for that .2 mpg.
extra mt is a bit of a unicorn but not as much as it was 5 years ago.
Refill with your gl-5 spec gear oil of choice.

It was more important pre 2019 models where you could get a Manual transmission forester with shared front diff/transmission.

before that their unobtanium oil was EXTRA S.

The manual transmissions are always 50/50 F/R torque distribution, so only half the minimal effect on mpg.

There's also Redline Lightweight Shockproof
