2025 Corvette ZR1 - 1064 hp!!!

Cool to see the 1000hp mark broken by GM.

Personally this is too fast for me. Most modern vehicles are fast already. 5-6 second range 0-60 is good enough for me.
My guess is that car is a lower-mid 2 second 0-60 car and gotta do 9's in the qtr.
The E-Ray is AWD (but less power) so the cars are probably close 0-60 but all that power wins in the qtr.

I wonder if they have posted numbers?

I still don't quite understand how the electric motor and engine "work together ". I always see the ice makes x horsepower with the electric motors making x horsepower for a combined total of xyz. Yeah 1,064 hp is some bonkers numbers. I wonder what the tuning potential is? There are a few Gallardos and aventadors running underground racing tt kits pushing 2200 hp. According to the engineer Tad juctcher ( or However you spell it) The rear vents were a two fold A) a throwback to the C2 split window B) The insane heat created by the turbochargers. Why they didn't duct in a ram air from a roof scoop ala the Diablo Jota is beyond me. I'd love to take a trip to Bowlingreen Ky again to see one put together then tested on the dyne and in the weather chamber.
The E-Ray is the AWD hybrid. The electric motor drives the front wheels and the flat torque curve gets the car moving quick.
The gas engine drives the rear wheels and once rpm hits the torque curve it's all go.

The electric pull is immediate; ICE/trans can have a log. I am sure Chevrolet has balanced the 2 power sources for seamless speed.

That 207mph run was with the ZTK track package that creates 1200 lbs of downforce. It still has more left on the top end, especially without the track package. Torque output is limited in the first two gears to help with traction. There are no street legal DOT tires, than can hook up consistently on vehicles at 500 to 600 whp. The torque management has been around since the C6. The most impressive part to me is how effortlessly it pulls through triple digit speeds.

I love all these big Amercian v8's. But its still slower to 60 than the demon 170 with a basic pushrod, what's up with that? :)
The Demon is very impressive for what it is but it is a street legal drag car, and needs prefect conditions with all the correct vehicle settings to do it consistently. 0-60 is meaningless in these types of cars. 1/4 mile times and 60-130 acceleration are more useful performance mesaurements. The ZR1 can apparently run the 1/4 at 150mph trap speed in the mid 9’s. I don’t think its from a great 60’ launch, its from accelerating like a missile once its moving. A pro drag racer with true drag tires and some practice with this car will surprise some people. Thats if the half shafts can hold up to that punishment. Just watching the video of the speed run looks like it has about a 5 sec 60-130 time.

They couldn't get that extra 1hp to make 1,065? The biggest problem I see, besides the quality issues it will have, is that the the service dept at the Chevy dealers are not going to be able to fix them. They have enough problems fixing the regular stuff. This is where I would prefer an Italian exotic where the dealership networks are truly skilled and treat your car with care and they look better!
You won’t be able to pull into any chevy dealer for service on these cars. Only the chevy dealers who will get an allotment of these cars will have a tech or two trained to work on them. This goes for the Z06 and the eRay as well. Even some dealers who sell a decent amout of corvettes will not be able to get these cars. Someone who has the money to buy these cars, service is not an issue.

There is supposed to be one more model, The Zora. ZR1 with the eRay front electric motors. Should come in around 1225hp.

Yeah they're pretty different cars, and to be fair to the vette it's using less displacement to get more power, but on the other hand the hemi is a really old design now. They go about things differently but both are super impressive.

These might very well be the strongest ICE only v8's we ever see from America unless there is some corporate shakeup at Stelantis.

Have a feeling a fair share will be gobbled up by deep pockets and end up in storage...

I'm sure the Saudi Oil money will get their share...

Agree. This is quite a bit of technology coming from GM. How many dealers are going to be able to service them. I bet an oil change or air filter would not be easy or cheap.

Nice car.

I guess 1K is huge to a lot of poeple.

Turbo small blocks have been crossing the half ton mark for decades.
