Looking to replace a vehicle in the fleet. When I was doing some research, Car & Driver rated it #1 in the sub compact SUV market, and it received the Editor's Choice Award. I think it's one of the best looking vehicles in the small SUV market for sure. The Car Care Nut on YT did a review and overall, it was pretty positive. Interesting that it uses two timing belts though. These belts are actually wet belts too so that is interesting. I haven't owned a new Chevy vehicle in some time. Is this actually work taking a harder look at? Does anyone own one of these, that can provide some feedback?

I'd take a close look at one if I was in the market for a small SUV. Take a look at the Buick Envista and Encore too.

For around $25K OTD nicely equipped, it's hard to beat. I considered it when I bought my wife her Equinox, but no AWD killed it.
I was originally looking for AWD, but in all reality, the Corolla has been more than adequate with snow tires. This would give him more ground clearance than the Corolla and we would run a good all-season tire that carries the three peak mountain snow tire rating (Nokian AW01) for the crummy days.

One of the neighbors on the next block bought one when they first came out. I talked to the owner's Dad and he said that his son was pretty impressed with it. I like what I've read about it and it comes pretty well-equipped for the price. It's on my short list if I had to buy a vehicle today, but that's about all I can say about it.

I heard the Trax was highly rated.

I also don't get the concept of kids not being able to look into this stuff themselves? lol

Our friends just gave their 16 yo a Lexus (the mom texted me can I recommend an aftermarket head unit so he can stream music and have apple carplay--I kid you not, at 12-14, we are the ones who would have been researching car stereo in our day), and another years ago a Honda Pilot. Both sets of parents said their kids need a reliable vehicle that they like, so anything more than 4-5 y.o. is out. I get that today a kid is so busy with lots of stuff, but since when did this change occur. Meanwhile in our household, I'll hear my wife ask my son if the school lunch is acceptable, or would he like her to pack him something, so yes I get it a little...

Wet belts? is this a vehicle that you drive for 100k then trade?

I haven't found the service interval for the timing belts on this yet. I am curious too. I would be amazed if he had this car for 5 years anyway.

I will tell you that one of the guys in my group rented one week before last. Brand spankin new. He said he was tempted to jump out of it as he tried to merge on the highway and start pushing. He said "lacks power" is an understatement. He did not give the SUV, overall, a very good review. Lack of power may frustrate a 23 year old that spent his/her money on it.

Thats odd, the online review are quite positive. With over 160 ft lbs of torque, the reviews say it's quite fun to drive.

Really like the Envista very sharp looking vehicle. Wish it came with AWD and the 1.3 .
I wonder how much real difference there is between the two 137 h.p vs 155 . Supposedly belts have a 150k service life ?

I had no idea the new Trax/Envista has overall good impressions, I'll have to keep that in mind for others as the price is right.
