What is the best to run in these cars? Thinking of switching to something thicker in the summer.

Thanks.

I favor Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30. It has the higher HTHS 3.5. It is also available in 5W-30, which is thought to be made up of higher quality base oils. I wish you the best for your ride.

does this car have a euro engine? no, use any 0w-20 Dexos gen 3, SQ g GF -7 synthetic oil, as Pennzoil ,Valvoline ,Castrol will do on fine,0w-20 . even during summer heat a 5w-30 is good also.

It's got the LSD 1.5T, which will spec 0w20. I have the earlier LYX 1.5T in my 2021 Equinox and I've run 0w20, 5w20 and mostly 5w30 in it. I haven't found any noticeable difference is fuel economy, NVH, etc, going against GM's recommendation. I run Valvoline Restore and Protect in mine. I want every chance at keeping the oil control rings clean.

I'd do CVT fluid changes early and often in it as well. I believe GM still has the top mounted filter element on these that can be changed relatively easily.

I'm running AMSOIL signature 0w20 currently. first oil change at 300 miles. OLM oil changes since. I'm only on my third change right now. there is a used oil analysis on this site somewhere. Viscosity was a solid 20w. many 5w30 used oil analysis show the oil sheering to a 20
