I’m sure it great but at $130k irrelevant for 99% of us right?

I think this is, or is trying to be the new version of “win on Sunday, sell on Monday”. Seriously. What % could and would be willing to drop the coin on this, not matter how whatever.

a ‘64 Cobra, a ‘68 GT-500, a ‘70 Superbird…. Same thing. Get your attention. Magazines, high school boys, etc…. Get your attention, get you in the door and buy [x]. (Tricle down engineering is a side benefit)

The 1% who can afford it just might buy something better. Who knows?

The dash is absolutely atrocious and stupid. People wonder why used car prices keep going up. This is part of the reason.

Seems very typical GM. If some is good, more is better does not always work in real life.

But it does work with GM full sized trucks and SUVs. The profit margins on those are well past $10,000, which is better than even Tesla. The GM Arlington plant (Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade) is considered by some to be the most profitable auto plant in the world.

The Average Transaction Price of the current Escalade is already around $113,000 and is the top seller in its class, by far.

Bad decision on their part.

I suppose they will give their proprietary system a name? Dexos?
I doubt it. It'll probably a variation on the old IntelliLink or Que name which they used for the last in car entertainment setup.

$130K? Sheesh. I wonder if it will be profitable? What about the Hummer EV? Did that ever get going? Somewhat similar market, I imagine.
Not likely at $130K. We can't build EV pickup trucks for a profit, with half that battery capacity for that.

If history is any guide, EV's are double the cost of their gas counterparts. We are clearly looking at $170K for that, for even the most slim of profit margins.

Remember, a fully loaded Rivian pickup is over $100K.
