2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Reveal

Just ran the numbers, it comes in at just under $70,000. For Tax, Tag, Title, Dealer Fee and Doc stamps.

Seems like just yesterday we could purchase an SUV of the exact same size in the $30K range. Oh wait, it was yesterday.
For a non EV, sure.

I'm sure they will sell the first 10-20k examples to must have it at price no object folks. I see the Blazer going down the Nissan Ariya hole where they then languish on lots and start getting discounted. I imagine in a couple months I might be getting a call from the "friendly" local Chevy dealer, I called ~8-9 months back on the Blazer and was told there were "like 80,000 people on the waiting list" so they were un-interested in talking to me about the Blazer EV at all but they took my information. I cannot wait for that guy to try to call me.

Sorry I have 60,000 reasons to not entertain your Blazer EV.....don't call me, I'll call you.

Yeah, I feel like the Ariya is pointless. It does not excel at any one thing and it's too expensive for what it is, again, compared to the Model Y which is better in literally every way.

More specs recently out. The Blazer EV pricing is just ridiculous. Until lower-spec Blazer EV trims come out, you’d be much better off just buying a lower spec LYRIQ.

2024 LYRIQ Tech AWD is around $62,090. 500 HP, 102kWh and 190kw DCFC

2024 Blazer EV RS AWD is around $60,215. ???HP, 85kWh and 150kw DCFC

For only ~$1,900 more, you get a much faster LYRIQ, with a larger battery and more range. And a nicer interior. 🤷🏼‍♂️

85kWh AWD Blazer EV needs to get into the lower $50,000s to be competitive, IMO.

...and that price is before the dealer markup we all know is coming.

Curious why neither the Lyric (thats been out a year now) or the blazers are in the GM press fleet as of just about a month ago.

The lyric has not met the charging spec GM claimed of being able to add 195 miles of range in 30 minutes. Which means the blazer wont meet it either. They dont specify from what state of charge it this starts at but no journalist has been able to get it to match this yet.

Ive been on the lyric forums and it has a serious HVAC problem, that hopefully the blazer wont have.

Munroe wasnt at all impressed with the battery.

Right now Ultium based SUV's are a bust. The silverado looks promising.

and some because it looks cool, priced right and a dealer around the corner.
Are they out yet? I am curious about the dealer markups, if any. We are so far removed for the days of MSRP discounts. They will be back one day, but the dealerships have used the pandemic shortages to their advantages, to say the least.

Depends on what you mean by "out yet".

In terms of ultium platforms - in Q3 GM delivered 19 blazers, 18 Silverados, and just under 1200 hummers.
oops - add in 3108 lyrics although that been delivering for a bout a year now as has the hummer.

I hope GM can get ultium to deliver on its promises.

If it worked like the brochure Id prefer a blazer to just about any other EV.

I wish GM (and Honda?) luck in their EV ventures. That saying, and no disrespect for anyone or their choices, I am sticking with Tesla. No one else has the tech, EV experience and EV quality. No one else comprehends, or values, the word innovation. I do.

It seems this stuff is important to me because I live in the Innovation capital of the world. Innovation and "I can do that" has been pretty darn rewarding to me. Again, each to his/her own. All good.

What’s important to me is a vehicle that like you that fits my wants and needs.
Tesla lineup definitely does not
Choices are good GM and others will fill that void. After all, they currently do with their ice models. EV will be no different and honestly I don’t think the EV market in general is going to come close to taking over the marketplace over the next couple decades, unless somebody comes up with an alternative to the current battery powered cars

Just looked at BlazerEVforum.com. The first owner just popped up a day or so ago. They claimed it was purchased at MSRP. These need to be selling under MSRP to make any sense to me.

I think GM shouldn’t have bothered with the Blazer. A 3-row Traverse EV for maybe $70k makes way more sense to me than a $60k Blazer.

I did notice Ultium Cells Ohio made their 10,000,000th cell back in July. Sounds like GM’s volume issue has been an unnamed automation company that makes the machines that assembles the modules. They have had major issues delivering the machines. They’ve been slowly hand assembling modules to this point.

I’d bet once the machines get delivered production can ramp up massively.

Sticking with Tesla ? I'm shocked 😳
