As others have said you will want to use 508.00 spec oil. I use the OEM VW 508.00 oil and OE filter purchased through ECS Tuning and change every 5k / 6 months.

No, for example this 2019 UOA shows Castrol Edge Professional Long-Life IV FE 0W-20 VW 508.00 being high-calcium/low-magnesium with no LSPI protection.

I guess my VW doesn't come poorly pretuned, with expected LSPI, from the factory and maybe VW doesn't worry about LSPI. I'd wager that too many automakers use oil as a bandaid.

I am happy with my outdated insufficient 508 oil in my VW... well at the 3.7 out of 4.7 quarts. I am pretty sure the 1st quart was a bottle of outdated obsolete A3/B4 Castrol 0w40.

I won't mention the non VW filter that I'm using too.

You can run an API-SA-rated oil you found in your great-grandfather's garage in your VW if you like. API and ACEA have updated to LSPI-tested oils for a reason. ACEA A7/B7 and C6 are replacing ACEA A5/B5 and ACEA C5, respectively, and it looks like VW 508.00 has been updated to modern mixed calcium–magnesium detergents as well. There is no reason to run an outdated oil, which may not protect a TDGI engine from possible LSPI events. Moreover, in addition to providing LSPI protection, mixed calcium–magnesium detergents protect against acid build-up better than calcium-only detergents, extending the OCI and increasing engine life. That's because calcium and magnesium neutralize different kinds of acids and work well in synergy.
