This filter was on friends 2022 Toyota Tacoma 2wd truck with 2.7 engine. At 5k he drained out the factory fill and put Quaker State Ultimate Durability 0w20 in. This time with mileage at 10k we put Fram endurance filter on and some Quaker State Ultimate Protection 0w20.

Media is self supported and doesn't need excessively stout endcap support.
Media did not fail in use as I don't see any tears. Other than that, no other conclusion but it simply worked and didn't fail..
How well it worked is an unknown.
Some 'very old' data, particle counts, boutique oil brand comparative testing of some filters.... that showed the Toyota media as nothing special. Toyota filter PN's change often enough too. So, without current data, their OE filters are an unknown entity concerning filtration. Had to say it. And, I don't use OE Toyota filters.

Friend does mainly 85/15 highway to city driving.
Each pleat end is glued together. the "mini-cap" around the center tube is there to help keep the pleats from bending from oil flow.

ZeeOSix: didn’t do burn test but ADBV felt like bubble gum
It looks to be the grayish-black ADBV, so I'm betting it's silicone like was shown on other Denso filters.
