I just changed the plugs on my Q5 at 44k miles Audi schedule is to change at 40k which seems early but all VW products I have owned have conservative schedules. They look good to me. Indy want $600 for plugs and air filter which seems ridiculous considering how easy they were as they are right on top

Are you doing the DSG actually I think it’s called S Tronic I said the SG wants and was corrected. Do you have the computer to do the DSG or are you just doing a drain and refill? I had an Indy do it and he charge me 600 he wanted another six for the air filter and the plugs which I passed on. Just an FYI he will need a very thin walled plug socket to get into the spark plug tubes. They are pretty narrow. Also, you will need a very thin 10 mm open end to get the bolt that holds the coil packs in. I had to grind down a 10 mm that I had to make it narrow to fit and I actually had to grind my spark plug socket so it would fit in the hole.
Well, yes, Audi’s branding for the VWAG 7 speed DSG is S-tronic but it’s still a direct shift gear box. The procedure is drain/refill there’s not a need for a computer for anything other than reading trans oil temp for level checking which OBDEleven does so I’ve got this covered. This is the 4th vehicle with an EA888 engine and our 11th VWAG product so I have all of the maintenance goodies such as the release tools for the coil pack connectors, thin walled sockets and slim box wrenches … and the galaxy of triple square drivers it takes to do brake, suspension or steering work.
5 liters of DSG fluid and the fill connector tool was about $100 from ECS Tuning so I’m pretty comfortable doing it myself.
