This weekend,we rented a Jeep Patriot for a family Christmas Party.

This was the first time I've ever been in a vehicle made by JEEP. This was black with black interior, with the automatic transmission.
Overall,it's not a bad vehicle IMO. It's small, rides nice and fuel economy isnt too bad.

We drove it in snowy, slippery roads and it handled them with ease. Power was fine for passing on the highway as well.

Oh,it's got a nice, toasty heater as well, cooked us,but it felt nice compared to the negative temps we've been seeing the last couple of days.

Anyways, short simple review of our Jeep Patriot rental.

This vehicle has zero Jeep DNA in it.
You wanna drive a real Jeep?
Try a Wrangler or an Unlimited and be prepared for dismal fuel economy.
Sounds like your driving experience was pretty good, though.
These things can be picked up pretty cheaply but reliability and durability have been of serious concern for past model years.
Maybe Fiat has improved upon this?

Haha. Good one!

I know a few Patriot owners who are very fond of them. I don't care much for the looks or the CVT transmission, but they are nice little SUVs. It is actually quite amazing what some of the owners on the Jeepforums do with them off road since a lot of people claim they are not a "real Jeep".

Yeah I test drove a new one with the 6spd auto in 2015. I thought it was great. Super value in base trim with just FWD. Decent value in 4x4 if you could keep it close to $20K.
