2016 Yukon XL code...P0741

Yukon has been acting up, high rpms, running sluggish , limped the car home yesterday , trans temp never got over 195f,
Scanner showed P0471 Torque Converter Clutch ( TCC) System Stuck Off
Anyone ever dealt with this on the Yukon ?

Hopefully not the torque converter but if it's the 6 speed it may be. What mileage. Also I wonder if it's just the lockup part that's not working. It should be fine to use like that as for the longest time torque converters weren't lockup capable but those generated more heat and were a bit less fuel efficient but if you kept the fluid changed they'd last several hundreds of thousands of miles just fine.

Pull the Thermal Bypass Valve & disassemble....If you have debris....Rebuild time.
Converter Clutch friction lining is gone & the piston is grinding itself into the front cover.

Do Not continue to drive the vehicle & make more metal!
