2016 CX-5 Under Valve Cover

~130K miles, 2.5L. First time having the cover off. Was starting to leak on the back side. New gasket went in with no issue. Have always used good synthetic oils, sometimes with AutoRX. Chain was tight. Drain intervals were around 5-7K miles each but doing 5k from now on.

There seems to be a "Z" pattern on the cam lobes. Is this normal? UOAs haven't shown any high Fe.

Shows how using Auto-Rx can keep an engine really clean!!
 
Looks awesome, and I also like the oil tube directly on top of the valvetrain, nice design Mazda!

I also can see why this engine can go 300k easily!
 
Cool. I have 126k on my 2016 6 and I have a new gasket waiting to go on. I just haven't done it yet. I'm hoping mine looks like that. I had a couple of years of going a year on oil.
