Hi everyone,

I am currently having an issue where it seems like my battery is getting depleted.

Previous battery:

After being parked from 1 to 2 days, It wont start.
I wonder if it's due to a fuse or something else?
I am trying to figure out what could cause the battery drain...

The battery was replaced 1 year ago. It is Kirkland Signature Group 26R, 540 Cold Cranking Amps.
If the battery is at fault, I would have to go back to costco to avail myself of the warranty.
I would've tried to get the Group 35 (650 CCA), but the battery cover will have to be removed because it's too small.
And even then, I don't know if it would fit.

A year prior, I heard some noises around the serpentine belt:

I don't know what caused the issue: belt, belt tensioner, alternator, idler pulley?
The mechanic I saw told me it wasn't a big deal.

Can you help me figure out what could be cause the battery drain/no-start?

Thanks

PS: I am currently looking for a somewhat reliable mechanic

Start with a parasitic draw test and go from there.

Lots of youtube videos, etc. It will likely take about an hour once hooked up for everything to go to sleep. Don't touch anything during that period.

Do you have any aftermarket gadgets - stereo, security alarm, etc. There the normal culprits.

I know I’m not going to be helpful. Sorry. But when you mentioned the aftermarket remote starter …. My sister in law had one installed on her new civic. Worked fine early on. But battery would go dead and it once in a while start on its on . Yes that did happen. Crazy ain’t it. Wardawg.

We went through a series of dead batteries on our Sentra in 2024 and 2025.

I think we were fighting two issues. There was a recall to reprogram the computer. Apparently the computer wasn't shutting off fully and the VVT solenoids were draining the battery.

After that, it still killed the battery one more time. I believe that was from short tripping and the "smart" alternator not charging the battery. I ended up disconnecting the plug to the current sensor and so far ... knock on wood ... it didn't have any issues. I do carry a battery booster with it now.
