Hello again. 2015 Focus factory ford filter cut open. Looks darn good to me. For 7,450 miles I would say it performed well, and I left it sit a few days. This is one of the office girls new car, 4 door also. I put a MC-910 and some QSGB 5w20 back in the engine. Yes, I cut a bit too deep smudging the media in the one pic.

I'm going to have to call the Filter Cutting Bureau and report this. What's your certification #?

Yeah, and if its true that the Ford factory filters are CHAMPION LABS made, then they look very darn good to me

Which makes me wonder how many people "smudged" the media when cutting open their Puro Classics?

Odds are, it has happened. And of course, Puro is getting the blame.

Most of the tears I have seen on BITOG were vertical and on the inside folds of the media...can't really be attributed to "amateur" filter cutting.

If a filter cutter is not available, then use a plasma cutter to cut a perfect line around the filter. Also please have someone video the filter cutting with a plasma cutter.

Perhaps you are forgetting about the tears near the dome too?
